Kaist, Daejeon, Korea

Hey everybody,

for my Exchange Year from TUM im going to KAIST

KAIST (Korean Advanced Institute for Science and Technology) is located at Daejeon in the Province of Taejeon in South Korea.

Daejeon is pretty in die middle of the country, 5th largest City (1.5 Million) and about 150km away from Seoul (that would be a 50 Minute Trainride using the KTX Highspeed Train)

Kaist is a pretty young school, established in the 1970s, moved out to Daejeon from Seoul sometime in the 80s, and since mid of the 90s, it has Bachelors. Up to that point, it was soley for Master-Students.
It still is highly Research-Oriented, with the National Nanofab onsite and several other really interesting Projects on the way.
The 7000 Students are mostly Korean, with maybe 2% of foreigners (TUM has more than 15%). But, the university has a much higher foreignerrate

    gut zzu hören das du gut angekommen bist. Bei uns regnet es auch. Mit wandern ist seit 2 Tagen essig.

    Hallo Patrick,

    mit den Umständen wirst du schon klar kommen. Ist dein Zimmergenosse OK?
    Denk dran, das 4 Monate schnell rum gehen und lerne so viel du kannst.

    Wenn du erstmal da klar kommst, kannst du Asien erorbern.

    Wir haben gestern eine tolle Tour gemacht und mehrfach 1,2,3 göttlich gerufen.
    Dabei hebn wir an dich gedacht.
